"To Touch a Life Forever"

Representing All California Resource Families

Our Association was established in 1972 by a group of foster parents in San Francisco who met around a kitchen table and came up with the idea to create a support system for foster parents in California. We now have over 25 chapters throughout the state and a total of almost one thousand members that join our Association annually.

Our Main focus is to address issues of Foster Parents/Resource Families in California.

We host quarterly board meetings combined with a training in Sacramento in addition to an annual training conference hosted by different regions in California.

We support and advocate for those who provide care for children in the California dependency system.

We provide insurance for events hosted by our different state chapters.

We strive to develop a better understanding of the issues and challenges of resource families both by the persons involved in caring for children and by the general public.

We offer members resources and benefits that support the entire family throughout placement and into permanency.

We advocate for public policy by participating in state, regional and national child welfare committees and task forces that support resource families-foster parent related issues, child welfare issues and issues concerning children in placement.

We work to develop strong community partnerships that support the association’s objectives and programs and target population.

Become a foster parent/resource family and directly change a life forever. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent/resource family, contact your local Department of Children and Family services.  You can find out more about becoming a resource family at http://www.cdss.ca.gov/Resource-Families.

Every county has guidelines and an orientation plan to help you decide if becoming a Resource Family is something you would like to do.

If you are now a Foster Parent and would like to join our association we would welcome your participation.
